Question 24 is asked only of those respondents who indicated in a previous question in the questionnaire that one or more co-authors left the project team between the planning of the study and the writing of a research paper. The question seeks to identify the reasons for this.
The purpose of the pilot test was to determine whether the list of response options was complete or whether additional reasons should be included.

Findings:
Seven participants stated during the cognitive interview that co-authors had left the project team during the course of the project. The reasons for this are listed in Table 21 (frequency distribution for Question 24).
When asked, all participants stated that the list of response options in Question 24 was complete, particularly since an “Other” category was also provided.
