Question 6 was asked only of respondents who had indicated in question 5 that they had been vaccinated against COVID-19 (n = 116). Of these, two selected the response option "Don't know," and one subject listed only the month but not the year of initial vaccination. Eight test persons reported receiving their first vaccination in 2020. However, as shown in Table 7, the answers of these respondents are implausible, since the vaccination start in Germany was not until December 2020. The reasons for the incorrect responses cannot be determined based on the data from the online pretest.
The aim of the pretest was to investigate how certain the test persons were that they had correctly remembered the date of their first vaccination (N1_F6, see appendix). The question on the certainty of having correctly remembered the date of first vaccination was asked of all 114 subjects who had given at least one answer to question 6 (month or year). Only two of these subjects stated that they were "rather unsure" whether they had given the correct date. Both justified their answer by saying that they could not remember the exact date (TP71: May 2021, TP130: January 2021).
Overall, the results of the pretest do not indicate any memory problems on the part of the respondents when answering the question.
