There are two ways to use the search function::

  • Using the keyword search by entering a search term.
  • Restricting the search results via the search options either within projects or within items

  • Please note that the keyword search is the dominant function, so that it possibly clears search options selected previously. If you want to search the database only via the search options, the input field next to “search term” has to remain empty.

Via the search options, you can restrict your search either within projects or within items on basis of several criteria.

    Example:
Criterion selected “Topic: Political Attitudes and Behavior” = 17 hits
Criteria selected: “Topic: Political Attitudes and Behavior” and “Multi-Item Scale: yes” = 5 hits

Within individual search options, the restricted search operates additively, that is, if more than one topic is selected (e.g. “Political Attitudes and Behavior” and Job & Career”), hits for both topics are displayed.

    Example:
Criterion selected “Topic: Political Attitudes and Behavior” = 17 hits
Criteria selected: “Topic: Political Attitudes and Behavior” and “Topic: Job & Career” = 68 hits
